About our school
Welcome to Llangedwyn CIW Primary School,
We are a Church in Wales village school with a proud reputation for having a strong family and community ethos, where every child is nurtured and encouraged by our caring team of staff. Most pupils come from the village or the surrounding rural area, although a few live in neighbouring Shropshire.
Our School Moto is 'from little acorns do mighty Oaks grow'. We like to think that this is something that sum's up our approach to our pupil's and that with the right encouragement and support everyone is capable of achieving great things personally.
We cater for children up to eleven years old. Our children learn and play in a lively and stimulating environment both within the building and outside, in our unrivalled school grounds complete with a large adventure playground, playing fields and gardens.
We are part of a newly formed federation with Llanfechain CIW Primary School. The two small village schools have a single Headteacher and a shared governing body. There is a joint staff, a shared curriculum and a shared, caring family ethos. We have all the advantages of a small village school – each part of its unique community – and the benefit of working closely with another small school, sharing expertise and skills across the Federation.
